Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

What you will do

Spec out instrumentation and control systems, selecting appropriate instruments, sensors or control devices in compliance with relevant engineering standards Oversee the installation and setup of I&C equipment and systems, ensuring they function correctly and meet safety and regulatory standards. Participates in area Risk Assessment, HAZOP's, Hazard Hunts, Critical Operating Parameter Reviews. SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment): Implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment. Participate in incident investigations. Support Opportunity management-identification of opportunities and development of scope of work for projects. Ensure that instrumentation and control systems adhere to safety and environmental regulations to prevent accidents and minimize environmental impact. Conduct continuous surveillance, analysis and bad actor management of instrument and control systems to enable sustained leading safety and reliability outcomes for the America EOR I&C equipment fleet. Collect and analyze data from instrumentation to optimize processes and identify areas for improvement and optimization. Recommend and implement upgrades to instrumentation, electrical and/or control systems to keep them up to date with industry standards and technology. Provide technical support for effective change management for changes, repairs, alterations and upgrades to instrumentation & control equipment Provide brownfield upgrade/greenfield projects and shutdown engineering support. Preparation / review of IC&E engineering deliverables (one-line diagrams, Cause & Effect diagrams, Controls Narrative, wiring diagrams, installation details, instrument index, cable schedule, etc) performed both internally and by Contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that work is being executed in accordance with Company specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical /Electronic Engineering or a related field with significant instrumentation and controls experience. A post graduate degree is an added advantage At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in Instrumentation & Controls engineering Strong knowledge of discipline design and industry standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria (ISA, NEC, IEEE Standards, etc.) Strong analytic and communication skills Effective management of third-party engineering firms Vendor technical qualification support activities Ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify instrumentation and control systems related issues. Demonstrated work experience in Upstream Oil & Gas Production support will be an added advantage

Preferred Qualifications

/ Experience Leadership roles in operational or technical organizations with focus on Instrumentation and Control design, projects, or reliability Programmable Logic Controller debugging and programming. Networking/field communications: DNP3, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU/RS-485/RS-232. MQTT, Radio and fiber optic communications, managed network switches, etc Control Panel Layout & Build, Relay Logic, Wiring Diagrams, BOM Preparation Instrumentation and Controls facility design, and best practices development.
