Senior Institutional Relationship Manager – Mumbai

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Institutional Relationship Manager with 10+ years of experience managing institutional relationships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on directly building and growing institutional portfolios, driving revenue, and owning high-value mandates.

The Senior RM will focus on deepening relationships with key institutional clients, sourcing new mandates, and executing strategies that contribute to significant AUM growth, while operating independently without direct team management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage a portfolio of institutional clients, including corporates, insurance companies, pension funds, family offices, and other institutional allocators
• Develop and execute strategic plans to expand existing relationships and acquire new mandates
• Engage with C-level executives, CIOs, treasury heads, and investment committees to drive allocations
• Collaborate with internal teams (research, product, operations) to deliver tailored investment solutions
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and client strategies to identify opportunities for portfolio growth
• Maintain high client retention and drive measurable revenue/AUM growth
• Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional clients, owning the relationship end-to-end

Requirements:

• 10+ years of direct institutional relationship management experience in asset management, mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, or related financial services
• Proven track record of growing portfolios and achieving/exceeding revenue or AUM targets
• Deep understanding of financial markets, products, and institutional investor behavior
• Strong network within corporates, insurance companies, family offices, and other institutional clients
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence senior decision makers
• Professional certifications like CFA, CA, MBA, or NISM are a plus
