About the Role

The Technical Proposal Engineer is responsible for managing the complete proposal and quotation process, from reviewing customer enquiries and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to preparing technically compliant and commercially competitive offers.

The role involves coordinating with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, procurement teams, and internal departments to ensure the timely and accurate submission of quotations and tenders.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and analyse RFQs, customer enquiries, tenders, and technical specifications.
- Understand customer requirements and identify suitable products, equipment, and technical solutions.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Review datasheets, technical specifications, drawings, BOQs/BOMs, and other technical documents.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors to obtain technical information, pricing, lead times, and compliance documents.
- Prepare and verify costing, pricing, margins, and commercial terms before quotation submission.
- Conduct technical and commercial comparisons of supplier quotations.
- Prepare compliance statements, technical submittals, deviations, and clarifications.
- Ensure quotations comply with customer specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
- Coordinate with procurement and sales teams regarding material availability, delivery schedules, and commercial requirements.
- Follow up on submitted quotations and maintain an updated sales/proposal pipeline.
- Communicate with customers to obtain technical clarifications and resolve enquiry-related issues.
- Support negotiation activities by providing technical and commercial information.
- Prepare revised quotations based on customer feedback and commercial negotiations.
- Maintain accurate records of RFQs, quotations, supplier offers, technical documents, and correspondence.
- Coordinate with operations and procurement teams after order confirmation to ensure a smooth handover.
- Monitor quotation status and provide regular updates to management.
- Ensure proposals are submitted accurately and within the required deadlines.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Procurement, or a related technical field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in technical proposal preparation, estimation, procurement, sales engineering, or a related role.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in Oil & Gas, Industrial Safety, Fire & Gas, Instrumentation, or Industrial Equipment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Relevant MEP courses or training.
